Daytime Healthcare is assisting a great Luxury Private Hospital in St Johns Wood, which is seeking experienced Surgical Ward Nurses to join their team.
You will be providing care to a variety of surgical specialties, including spinal injections, minor orthopaedic, ophthalmic, ENT, vascular, minor urology, gynae, and plastics/cosmetic surgery.

Responsibilities:
- To maintain confidentiality surrounding patient admission and treatment at all times.
- Ensure documentation is completed accurately and within agreed timescales using Hospital approved documentation, in line with NMC and Hospital guidelines.
- To know of and adhere to ward and Hospital policy and professional standards.
- To be a clinical expert within the specialty.
- To ensure the provision of excellent, evidence-based nursing care for patients.
- Ensure that each patient is assessed, that their care is planned, implemented, and evaluated and that this is accurately documented.
- Ensure the provision of a welcoming, caring, and safe environment for patients and their families.
- To communicate complex and sensitive information effectively to patients, carers, and other staff, overcoming any barriers to understanding and providing support during distressing or emotional events.
- Ensure that discharge planning is commenced at the point of admission, liaising with the multidisciplinary team, and other departments, as necessary.
- To develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledge necessary to provide holistic, evidence-based nursing care.
Ideal Candidate/ Qualifications:
- Current NMC registration in adult or general nursing
- 2 years post-registration experience in one of the specialties of the ward
- Experience in shift management and leading a team
- Evidence of ongoing training and commitment to development
- Significant post-registration skills
- Excellent clinical skills
- Excellent communicator
- Professional commitment and self-awareness
- Motivate self and others
Salary
Up to £38,854 per annum
